36 years on the lamb, and now he's in the brig

I was reading about this guy who was recently arrested after 36 years on the lamb for deserting the Marines. The poor bastard is in jail waiting for the Marines to come pick his ass up, and throw him in the brig at Camp Lejeune. Don’t we have better ways of spending our money then tracking down deserters from Vietnam? We pardoned all the draft dodgers, so why not pardon all these guys? Why not spend our money on the troops in war zones? I guess that would make too much sense! Ooh Rah, Semper Fi, or whatever else you guys say after catching these guys.
